To be part of a high performing welding team, welding high volume production and prototype metal stampings, ensuring high quality welds that are in line with print specifications. This role requires an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations made for individuals with disabilities. The welder will be responsible for ensuring all welds meet customer expectations, proper packaging and identification of finished products, and utilizing inspection tools to verify parts meet print specifications. They will also perform first piece and subsequent inspections, weld various raw materials using appropriate settings to minimize distortion and overheating, and utilize weld fixtures for proper clamping and holding. Setup and maintenance of welding tools, examination of sub-component parts and assemblies, and operation of other equipment like grinders and sanders are also key responsibilities. The role may involve operating a forklift, performing simple maintenance and repair, and cross-training in other manufacturing plant areas. Continuous improvement suggestions for quality and productivity are encouraged, and working safely is a condition of employment. Additional related assignments and overtime may be required.
