Voice Actor Curation & Operations Specialist (Contract)

CartesiaSan Francisco, CA
Onsite

About The Position

We are looking for a Voice Actor Curation & Operations Specialist to make our voice sourcing and library operations consistent, fast, and scalable. We are specifically looking for someone with professional voice acting or linguistics experience for this role. Whether you understand the craft from the inside—the nuances of a great read, breath control, and tone—or you understand the science of speech, phonetics, and dialects, you are perfectly positioned to evaluate what makes a state-of-the-art (SOTA) voice. You will be the driving force behind casting/sourcing global voices and ensuring our internal voice library is a meticulously organized, highly discoverable asset.

Requirements

  • Professional experience as a Voice Actor or a strong background in Linguistics. You either know the VO industry intimately or have a deep understanding of phonetics, accents, and speech patterns.
  • An exceptional ability to articulate vocal nuance—you can clearly describe elements like timbre, resonance, cadence, articulation, and emotional delivery.
  • Strong organizational and database management skills—you can bridge the gap between creative/linguistic audio evaluation and systematic data categorization.
  • Agility and high-throughput execution; you can pivot quickly to fulfill urgent, ad-hoc sourcing requests.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in voice casting, voice directing, or audio engineering.
  • Cultural awareness and a trained ear for evaluating nuanced regional dialects and language variants across different global locales.
  • Familiarity with data cataloging tools or content management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end voice sourcing and "casting" to fulfill 100% of internal and Go-To-Market (GTM) voice requests (e.g., sourcing specific regional accents like Singaporean, Vietnamese, Thai, Tagalog, Hebrew, etc.).
  • Proactively source at least one top-tier voice per Tier 0 and Tier 1 language to keep our capabilities cutting-edge, leveraging your knowledge of VO talent pools or linguistic variations.
  • Overhaul and maintain the internal voice library, adding rich, descriptive metadata about vocal characteristics, cleaning existing entries, and vastly improving discoverability for the wider team.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for fast-paced, weekly ad-hoc voice requests to support product launches and roadshows.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary alongside attractive equity package.
  • Commuter Allowance. A monthly stipend to help you get to and from the office.
  • Flexible PTO. Take as much time as you need to recharge your batteries.
  • Lunch, dinner and plenty of snacks, provided daily.
