About The Position

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced voice actors and voice professionals who are native English speakers with an authentic Australian accent and are currently based in Australia. This role supports an advanced text-to-speech initiative focused on developing natural, expressive, and human-like voice technology for a customer-experience AI agent. Selected professionals will record high-quality scripted audio across multiple styles while maintaining consistent vocal quality, pronunciation, pacing, and delivery. Voice recordings may be used to create a cloned voice specifically for the designated CX AI agent.

Requirements

  • Native English fluency with an authentic Australian accent
  • Current residence in Australia
  • Professional experience in voice acting, voiceover, dubbing, narration, podcasting, broadcasting, or a related field
  • Strong command of intonation, diction, pronunciation, pacing, and emotional range
  • Experience following scripts and performance direction precisely
  • Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup
  • A high-quality microphone and quiet recording environment
  • Reliable availability for approximately 5–10 hours per week
  • Comfort providing recordings that may be used for voice cloning within the stated project scope

Nice To Haves

  • Previous text-to-speech recording experience
  • Experience recording audiobooks or long-form narration
  • Background recording IVR or customer-service voice systems
  • Experience contributing to AI speech or voice datasets
  • Familiarity with Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, or comparable audio software
  • Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles, including conversational, corporate, energetic, and calm
  • Experience working from detailed pronunciation or performance guidelines
  • Basic audio editing and quality-control skills

Responsibilities

  • Record high-quality voice samples across conversational, narrative, instructional, and other scripted formats
  • Deliver clear, natural, and expressive Australian English speech
  • Maintain strong control over tone, pacing, pronunciation, diction, and emotional delivery
  • Follow scripts precisely while preserving a natural speaking style
  • Produce multiple takes with variations in emotion, emphasis, and delivery when required
  • Maintain consistent voice characteristics, accent, and recording quality across sessions
  • Adapt delivery to different conversational and professional contexts
  • Demonstrate appropriate emotional range while maintaining clarity
  • Follow detailed performance direction and recording guidelines
  • Maintain reliable vocal quality throughout the project
  • Record in a quiet, controlled environment using professional or near-professional equipment
  • Follow microphone, recording-environment, file-formatting, and delivery specifications
  • Monitor recordings for background noise, clipping, distortion, and other quality issues
  • Re-record material where required to meet project standards
  • Deliver organised audio files according to provided specifications
  • Produce recordings suitable for training and evaluating text-to-speech systems
  • Support the development of natural and expressive synthetic speech
  • Record material designed specifically for a customer-experience AI agent
  • Provide sufficient consistency and vocal variation to support high-quality voice modelling
  • Consent to voice cloning for the specific CX AI agent use case associated with this project
