About The Position

The Smoke Shop Clerk is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Smoke Shop. This includes attending to and assisting customers, accepting payments, stocking shelves, maintaining station organization, preparing hot food, and balancing the cash drawer. The clerk ensures satisfactory customer service by greeting customers and assisting with their needs. They conduct physical counts of the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, verifying all monies, receipts, and transactions. The role also involves ensuring all paperwork is correct, signed, and verified by the attending supervisor. Clerks are responsible for stocking and organizing store shelves to maintain a presentable appearance, as well as maintaining proper inventory levels and communicating low stock to the Manager or Supervisor for ordering. Adherence to attendance policies and timely reporting for shifts, or providing adequate notice for absences, is required. The clerk also assists in resolving customer and employee concerns in a timely and professional manner and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Cash handling experience
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable of merchandise in store and available for any training deemed necessary.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in English.
  • Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • The ability to follow instruction and have the ability to perform assigned tasks under limited supervision.
  • Must be able to effectively work alone and or with other employees in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • previous cashier experience preferred.
  • Prior retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures satisfactory customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with any needs or questions.
  • Conducts a physical count of drawer at beginning and end of assigned shift and verify all monies, receipts, and transactions made.
  • Ensures all paperwork is correct, signed and verified by attending supervisor.
  • Stocks store shelves, organizes, and straightens items to maintain a presentable appearance to the customers.
  • Maintains proper levels of inventory, communicates low inventory levels to the Manager or Supervisor for ordering.
  • Maintains proper attendance in accordance with internal policy. Reports to work on time, and/or provides adequate notice to supervisor prior to absence or lateness in accordance with policy.
  • Assists in resolving customer and employee concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
