About The Position

The Voice Actor (Vactor) interacts with and entertains guests at the IMAX 34 location in Galveston, Texas. Under the supervision of the Lead Vactor, the Vactor performs as a cartoon character in the 4D immersive and interactive 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Adventure and rotates as a Show Host with the current roster of Vactors/Hosts. The role involves frequent contact with coworkers and continuous direct contact with guests.

Requirements

• Theatrical, performance, and entertainment experience and skills are preferred.
• Must be reliable and responsible.
• Public speaking and improvisational skills are required.
• Must have the aptitude and attentiveness required to perform with an open microphone.
• Must be charismatic, energetic, outgoing, and family-friendly.
• Must be dependable, exercise sound judgment, plan and stay organized, and have excellent oral and written skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and take initiative to solve problems quickly.
• Manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine motor skills, hand/eye coordination, near vision, and excellent hearing and speech are required.
• Frequent standing, walking, stepping up and down, bending, and reaching are required.
• Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be capable of climbing ladders and stairs.

• Video gaming skills, including manual dexterity with an X-Box Controller.
