About The Position

Six Flags is hiring a Land Animal Apprentice to provide general care for assigned land animals and maintain their areas. This is a seasonal position for the 2026 operating season only. At the end of the season, seasonal associates are released for a period of at least 13 weeks. The position pays $17.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be comfortable speaking in front of large crowds.
• Must be articulate and able to clearly speak, read, and write in English.
• Must have good vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices such as prescription glasses.
• Must be willing to listen to and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be willing and able to work 40 hours per week indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the primary responsibilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas.
• Prepare animal diets and keep records.
• Retrieve food and supplies from the Land Animal Kitchen.
• Maintain the cleanliness of offices and locker rooms.
• Learn and perform assigned show parts.
• Assist with educational programs and guest relations.
• Assist with animal care, feeding, and training sessions as assigned.
• Perform other duties as requested.
