About The Position

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent technical education.
• 8–10 years of design experience, including 5 years in multi-family or commercial truss design.
• Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, truss production requirements, and field operations.
• Expertise in MiTek design software and related tools.
• Proficiency in advanced mathematical concepts and their practical application in truss design.
• Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills, with a sales-oriented mindset.
• Ability to sit, stand, and move frequently throughout the day.
• Flexibility to work in diverse environments, including production areas and job sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily design department resources, including scheduling and workflow prioritization.
• Mentor and guide design team members, supporting their professional growth and skill development.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external customers, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
• Collaborate with the sales team to align designs with customer expectations and project scopes.
• Create and review truss designs, optimizing material efficiency, production capabilities, and cost-effectiveness.
• Use MiTek and AutoCAD to deliver accurate and innovative designs.
• Perform inspections, jobsite repairs, and technical troubleshooting as required.
• Develop strategies to achieve departmental goals, improve design workflows, and enhance team productivity.
• Identify and implement solutions to reduce design errors and improve material utilization.
