About The Position

Works closely with management to organize and execute the safe movement of fleet trailers within the yard. Checks fuel levels, tracks inventory, verifies loadout orders and completes daily reports. Communicates and interacts with other departments in a professional manner. Responsible for the placement of trailers on the yard and organization of the yard.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or international equivalent required.
  • Knowledgeable on performing pre and post-trip inspection required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Operates yard truck to move trailers to and from dock.
  • Reports all accidents immediately to supervisor.
  • Monitors company issued radio and returns radio to battery charger at the end of each day.
  • Monitor and adjust refrigerated trailer temperature settings per specific load requirements.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and fueling of the yard tractors and trailers.
  • Completes daily check-off list and reports any repairs needed to the yard tractor to the Shipping Manager.
  • Remove trash and wash-out trailers daily.
  • Moves tankers in and out of the receiving bay.
  • Other duties as assigned.
