About The Position

The Truck Spotter safely moves trailers within the facility yard, stages trailers for loading and unloading, and supports efficient dock operations. The role ensures inbound and outbound trailer flow aligns with production and shipping schedules. The position involves operating a yard truck, maintaining trailer and seal records, monitoring refrigerated trailer settings and fuel, communicating with supervisors, and keeping the work area clean and safe. The scheduled shift is 2nd shift, from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or international education equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
At least 1 year of experience operating yard trucks, hostlers, or similar equipment.
Ability to safely operate tractor-trailers and back trailers into tight dock spaces.

Nice To Haves

CDL; preferred but not required, depending on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

Follow associated procedures, including FIFO procedures.
Operate a yard truck to move trailers to and from the dock.
Record trailer and seal numbers on trucks and trailers after loading.
Provide the supervisor with a list of all seal numbers at the end of the day.
Immediately report all accidents to the supervisor.
Fuel tractors and trailers as needed to maintain temperatures for trailers filled with product.
Complete accident reports for insurance carriers.
Monitor the company-issued radio throughout the shift and return it to a battery charger at the end of each day.
Record hub mileage, fuel levels, temperature checks, and fuel pump readings.
Monitor and adjust refrigerated trailer temperature settings according to specific load requirements.
Maintain general housekeeping to ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
