About The Position

Requirements

• College Degree - 2 year Accredited Echocardiography/ Ultrasonography (required)
• Program Accredited Echocardiography/ Ultrasonography Technical/ Vocational Training (required)
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
• Equivalent Experience If individual has neither accredited program nor 2 year degree, High School Diploma and equivalent experience sufficient to allow for successful completion of either ARDMS or CCI certification required below. (required)
• BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
• CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International - CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (required)
• Or RDCS-PE - ARDMS Pediatric Echocardiography - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (required)
• RDCS-FE - ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (required)
• Minimum three (3) years Congenital & pediatric echocardiography (required)
• Minimum six (6) months Demonstrated success performing independent fetal echocardiograms (required)
• Demonstrated proficiency in the skills and knowledge required to perform the job. (required)
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac embryology, congenital heart defects, cardiac hemodynamics and palliative/corrective congenital heart surgical procedures.

Nice To Haves

• College Degree - 4 year Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (preferred)
• RDCS-AE - ARDMS Adult Echocardiography - ARDMS - American Registry of Medical Sonographers (preferred)
• Bilingual Skills Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately, safely and efficiently performing routine congenital fetal and pediatric echocardiographic procedures with competency.
• Assisting in transesophageal, epicardial and intracardiac echocardiographic procedures in outpatient, inpatient, cath lab and operative environments.
• Acting as an expert department resource, providing leadership, and serving as a resource and consultant to the Cardiologist and service-line as required.
• Generating and preparing a draft echocardiogram report using the archiving and report writing software.
• Routinely functioning as a preceptor, role model, clinical and education resource.
