Requirements

  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Associates degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Requires basic understanding of programming and configuration of programmable logic controllers (PLC) as well as human machine interfaces (HMI).
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Requires intermediate computer knowledge including an understanding of some of IP networking, SQL databases, Windows Server and Domain management, or use of command line applications such as Telnet.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Requires a basic understanding of electrical systems including ability to read electrical schematics and use a multimeter.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Two (2 + ) years of experience in programming, Ethernet networking, industrial maintenance, or electrical engineering.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Associates degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Capable of programming and configuring programmable logic controllers (PLC) as well as human machine interfaces (HMI) with minimal assistance.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Requires intermediate to advanced computer knowledge including an understanding of some or all of IP networking, SQL databases, Windows Server and Domain management, and use of command line applications such as Telnet.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Comfortable working on electrical systems including ability to red-line electrical schematics, interpret P&IDs, and troubleshoot digital and analog signals using multimeters and process meters.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Four (4 + ) years of experience with design, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of process control systems.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware HMIs preferred.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Some experience providing field support to internal or external customers preferred.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Experience with data communication networks such as Ethernet/IP or radio telemetry is a plus.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Cybersecurity knowledge including familiarity with firewalls and network segmentation concepts such as a DMZ is a plus.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware HMIs preferred.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Some experience providing field support to operations or maintenance teams preferred.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Experience with data communication networks including Ethernet/IP and radio telemetry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Provide day-to-day support for operations personnel to ensure that process control systems continue to meet operational requirements efficiently and reliably as directed.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Perform maintenance activities on process control equipment or systems.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Assist other Instrumentation & Controls Engineers with the design, review, and implementation of process control systems.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Interact with contractors and support installation of process control equipment.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Develop knowledge of company standards and industry best practices in process control systems.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer I: Increase capabilities through job assignments and technical training.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Provide day-to-day support for operations personnel to ensure that process control systems continue to meet operational requirements efficiently and reliably.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Lead the design, review, and implementation of process control systems.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Oversee and coordinate contractor installations of process control equipment.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Manage occasional contractor projects including scoping and bidding of work.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Identify and purchase equipment needed for ongoing process control system maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II: Collaborate with the rest of the Instrumentation & Controls team to develop and implement company standards and industry best practices in process control systems.
