As a Security Officer Patrol Enhanced Part Time Driver in Holtsville, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. The role involves a fixed-shift commitment (“Anchor Shifts”) at a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment. In addition to the fixed shift, employees may pick-up extra shifts through the 'Claim-A-Shift Program', allowing them to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites, with the option to work part-time hours one week and full-time the next. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating relevant information to school personnel and/or supervisors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, hallways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas, verify access permissions when required, and assist with visitor management and security-related reporting.
  • Support a positive learning environment by addressing questions, giving directions, and reporting maintenance, access control, and/or behavioral concerns through appropriate channels.
