As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor entry points, verify authorized access, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorization credentials, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and report access-control concerns according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized activity, unsecured areas, or potential hazards.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and access-control documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
