About The Position

Intermediate District 287 is seeking a licensed School Nurse for an opening at Ann Bremer Education Center in Brooklyn Park, MN. The district serves students in grades K-12, as well as transition age students (18-22 years old), from 12 member districts in the west metro area. The district offers a wide range of services and specialized programs, primarily focused on setting IV special education, designed to meet the diverse needs of its students. Intermediate District 287 is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both students and staff, prioritizing a trauma-informed approach, comprehensive support services with small class sizes (average of 6-8 students per class), and a commitment to diversity by valuing diverse perspectives and life experiences, and focusing on hiring and retaining racially diverse and racially conscious staff.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience as a professional registered nurse (RN).
  • Six (6) months of experience in school health services, public health, hospital, or psychiatric nursing.
  • Must possess and retain a license as a Registered Professional Nurse in Minnesota.
  • Current license as a School Nurse issued by Professional Educator Licensing Standards Board (PELSB).
  • Public Health Nursing Certificate.
  • CPR certification.

  • First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive health services to students.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team including School Social Workers, Psychologists, Counselors, Behavior Intervention Specialists, and Student Safety Coaches.
  • Support student success through meaningful relationships and individualized care.
  • Contribute to a safe and supportive environment that helps each student thrive.
  • Ensure students receive personalized attention in small classes.
