About The Position

This position is for a Clinical Director in the K3 Neuro ICU RN role at Cooper University Health Care. The role involves direct responsibility for the daily operations of assigned department(s), including overseeing daily practice operations, recruitment, retention, adherence to policies and procedures, supporting ongoing education of staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and fiscal responsibility of the unit/department. The Clinical Director will work with the AVP of Nursing Operations in leadership functions, including 24-hour responsibility for the effective operation of the unit/department, role modeling, and other management functions. This includes direction of the operational, personnel, and financial activities of Patient Care Services within the assigned unit. The role ensures the delivery of patient care through the coordination of customer services and the leadership and management of the nursing unit. It also coordinates interdepartmental and ancillary activities to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care and directs the preparation and maintenance of the patient’s clinical record, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by the Registered Nurse. Additionally, the role ensures that staff participates in educational activities and the evaluation process to enhance their personal growth and development.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience
  • 1 year of demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Strong planning skills
  • Solid understanding of TQM philosophy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS certification

  • Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NRP, PALS)
