About The Position
This posting invites people interested in potential future refinery operator roles in the Houston area to complete an interest form. It is not an immediate opening or a guarantee of employment. Any positions that become available will depend on business requirements and approvals, and the posting may close without notice. The refinery operator is responsible for maintaining product quality safely. Typical duties include monitoring assigned areas and equipment, coordinating with console operators, supervisors, and other refinery personnel, preparing equipment for maintenance, performing preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting, adjusting equipment to optimize performance, maintaining housekeeping, and following environmental and safety procedures. Operators also serve as fire brigade members on the Emergency Response Team for a minimum of two years.
Responsibilities
- Maintain product quality in a safe manner.
- Perform visual rounds in assigned areas and assess equipment operation.
- Take instrument readings.
- Communicate with the console operator, supervision, and other refinery personnel.
- Prepare equipment for scheduled maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Perform basic instrument and equipment troubleshooting to determine whether technician support is required.
- Make equipment adjustments to optimize performance.
- Maintain housekeeping in common and assigned areas.
- Comply with environmental and safety procedures.
- Serve as a fire brigade member on the Emergency Response Team for a minimum two-year period.
