About The Position
Lifepoint Rehabilitation, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a PRN position at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. This role is crucial in implementing treatment plans developed by a supervising therapist, monitoring patient responses, and documenting progress. The PTA will educate patients and families on adaptive equipment and community resources, and assist with discharge planning. The position requires a commitment of at least 16 weekend hours per month.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree Required
- Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
- Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of CA
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Responsibilities
- Implements treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
- Seeks consultation as necessary.
- Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
- Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
- Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
- Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Assists with patient discharge planning.
- Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
