About The Position
A member of the Chicago's Community Kitchens (CCK) Team who supports the production, packaging, and distribution of prepared meals for our community. The Food Production Assistant helps to maintain food safety and sanitation, as well as occupational safety in the kitchen.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen
- Food Handler Sanitation Certification or ability to pass test for certification
- Ability to push, pull, and lift equipment and food containers that weigh up to 50 pounds
- Must be organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to take direction and feedback
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- High energy and motivated, with a positive attitude
- Ability to problem solve
Responsibilities
- Adhere to food safety and recipe guidelines to safely prepare food items; ensure compliance with HACCP and sanitation procedures
- Maintain consistency and quality of prepared meals; guarantee IDA compliance and safe manufacturing procedures at all times
- Keep a clean workstation and assist the sanitation team as needed
- Assist with receiving and management of FIFO, along with detailed organization of storage areas
- Other duties as assigned
