About The Position

Requirements

• Knowledge of the fundamentals of exercise science.
• Knowledge of healthcare terminology and current medical office practices and procedures.
• Excellent customer service and patient care skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient computer experience, particularly with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) and Google Sheets.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged sitting and computer work; lifting up to 25 pounds at times; extensive standing and walking; lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients; and frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. The description also separately states the ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

• Instruct patients in their exercise programs under the direction and guidance of a physical therapist.
• Clean, sanitize, and prepare exam rooms, tables, and equipment promptly and efficiently.
• Help maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the clinic, including scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and emptying trash receptacles.
• Schedule appointments to support patient satisfaction and make effective use of the schedule and providers’ time.
• Assist patients with completing new-patient paperwork and outcome measures.
• Collect patient copayments promptly at the time of service.
• Answer patient questions accurately and direct questions requiring further assistance to the appropriate person or department.
• Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
