About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or PharmD degree in pharmacy.
• Current licensure in Minnesota.
• Ability to work effectively with others to efficiently deliver patient care.
• Leadership, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills.
• Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills.
• Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles needed to provide appropriate service and assure patient safety.
• Familiarity with and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including FMLA, ADA, discrimination and harassment laws, patient confidentiality, PNHS compliance programs, CMS, TJC, FDA, DEA, Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, EPA, and the Minnesota Department of Health.
• Proficiency operating a personal computer, telephone, fax machine, photocopier, printer, and electronic medical record.

Nice To Haves

• Institutional experience in a hospital or home care/outpatient IV setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely dispensing and safe, appropriate use of medications.
• Receive, review, and prioritize physician orders for dispensing, compounding, and/or admixing for inpatients or outpatients.
• Counsel outpatients on proper medication use and potential side effects.
• Use one-piece flow during order verification to help eliminate extra steps and re-verification, reduce missing doses, and reduce phone calls.
