About The Position
Compounds and dispenses medication pursuant to physician orders; monitors drug therapy for appropriateness of drug, dose, route and duration of therapy; and screens for drug interactions, compatibilities and contraindications. Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and patients.
Requirements
- Per licensure requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
- Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
Nice To Haves
- For third shift, one year experience in hospital pharmacy is required
- For all other shifts, previous hospital experience is highly desirable
