About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Successful completion of clinical nursing courses sufficient to demonstrate competency in basic health care tasks, including nursing fundamentals and a medical-surgical clinical rotation or equivalent.
• Active enrollment in a nursing program; proof of active enrollment is required each term.
• Completion of nursing fundamentals and first clinical rotations or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a nurse.
• Provide comfort and hygiene measures, preventative skin care, safety measures, transport, and support with patients’ nutritional and elimination needs.
• Promptly answer call lights and respond to patient needs.
• Accurately and promptly report patient status changes and needs to the Registered Nurse.
• Document vital signs, intake and output, nutritional intake, personal hygiene, weights, and other care performed, and promptly report findings to the Registered Nurse.
• Use clinical strategies effectively to support patient and associate safety.
• Support unit stocking, cleanliness, and orderliness.
• Perform basic patient care tasks, including taking vital signs and blood glucose measurements and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
