About The Position
Join the team as a PRN Nurse Extern or Nursing Assistant to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while enhancing clinical skills. The Nurse Extern performs designated tasks in providing age-appropriate patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in providing age-appropriate patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The shift varies.
Requirements
- For the Nurse Extern role: Be a junior- or senior-level student currently enrolled in an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN program, or higher.
- For the Nurse Extern role: Provide a recommendation from instructors and verification of competencies.
- For the Nurse Extern role: Maintain a current GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Have a positive attitude and good organizational, customer service, and critical thinking skills.
- For the Nursing Assistant role: Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- For the Nursing Assistant role: Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
- Six months of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform designated tasks in providing age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
