About The Position
Join the team as a PRN Nurse Extern or Nursing Assistant to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while enhancing clinical skills. Both roles perform designated tasks in providing age-appropriate patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The Nurse Extern role is intended for eligible nursing students. The Nursing Assistant role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with Basic Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire.
Requirements
- For the Nurse Extern role: be a junior- or senior-level student currently enrolled in an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN program, or higher.
- For the Nurse Extern role: provide an instructor recommendation and verification of competencies.
- For the Nurse Extern role: have a current GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- For the Nurse Extern role: demonstrate a positive attitude and good organizational, customer service, and critical thinking skills.
- For the Nursing Assistant role: have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- For the Nursing Assistant role: obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
- Six months of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred.
