About The Position
Behavioral Health Technician-Non Cert Provides hands-on care to individuals with varying degrees of mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities. Performs a vital, front-line function to include observing, treating, and interacting with patients. This position carries out physician’s orders, serving as the eyes, ears, and hands of the diagnosing professional.
Requirements
- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
- Strong group skills
- Effective problem solving skills
- Effective observation and communication skills
- Knowledge of community resources and how to access
- Able to integrate care from a variety of sources to meet patient’s needs
- Able to work flexible schedule
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A current Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant License OR Associate’s Degree in a related human services field preferred
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Non-violent crisis intervention certification or obtain within 6 months of hire
Nice To Haves
- Prefer minimum one year experience working with individuals with mental health disorders; OR Any combination of education and experience that is commensurate with the above requirements
