About The Position

Join Natera’s Clinical Innovation & Therapeutics team as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Oncology. You will serve as a field-based scientific expert supporting our personalized Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) portfolio while acting as a clinical advisor to our Artificial Intelligence (AI) Product organization to advance precision oncology. Every sample represents a real person, and you will engage clinicians, investigators, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to facilitate scientific exchange, support clinical research, and translate oncology practice into product requirements that shape future patient care.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required
  • Previous MSL experience preferred
  • Oncology clinical or scientific experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with clinical trial conduct and ICH-GCP, with experience supporting investigator relationships and clinical trial recruitment
  • Experience supporting the design or interpretation of clinical validation studies for AI-enabled diagnostics preferred
  • Experience working within small- to mid-sized biotechnology companies preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM/CTMS-type platforms

  • advanced healthcare or scientific degree (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP) or relevant board certification (e.g., board-certified Genetic Counselor) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct, data-backed scientific and clinical presentations supporting Natera’s oncology products and developing pipeline
  • Establish and manage rigorous scientific relationships with investigators, oncologists, and KOLs in relevant oncology areas, such as Breast, Gynecological Oncology, or Hematology
  • Serve as the scientific and clinical liaison to investigators and KOLs—supporting protocol implementation, strengthening referral networks, and addressing recruitment challenges using data
  • Support and coordinate clinical trial and research initiatives at academic institutions and study sites
  • Partner directly with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Product, communicating clearly and pushing for action without needing translation layers
  • Contribute medical and scientific expertise to the creation and review of healthcare provider materials, communication tools, and publications to ensure scientific accuracy
  • Represent Natera at scientific and clinical congresses
  • Serve as the clinical advisor to the AI Product organization, translating clinical workflows, oncology practice, and user needs into product requirements and decision-support capabilities
  • Provide clinical and scientific input to the design and interpretation of clinical validation studies, evaluating AI-enabled products against established clinical reference standards and real-world workflows
  • Provide ongoing clinical expertise to Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to ensure AI solutions strictly align with clinical practice and regulatory expectations
  • Engage in ongoing learning to maintain expertise across scientific, clinical, and regulatory areas
  • Take ownership of gaps in clinical validation or product alignment, executing without waiting to be told where responsibility starts
  • Travel extensively as required (up to 10%)
