About The Position

This role involves managing the mechanical engineering and design efforts on major power projects from conception through construction and final project closeout. Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the design of mechanical systems for conventional generation (fossil fueled) power plants.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering leadership position.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • Experience with industry standard engineering software such as AFT Fathom and AFT Arrow.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with multi-discipline engineers and designers.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in US.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
  • Experience in HVAC and Fire Protection design is an asset.
  • Experience with Autodesk Plant3D is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Functioning as the mechanical discipline lead on a project.
  • Acting as the mechanical engineer of record for assigned projects, using professional engineering license to sign and seal mechanical drawings developed under supervision.
  • Developing mechanical calculations, reports, studies, specifications, and design drawings (equipment arrangement, PFD, AFD, P&IDs, isometric drawings) for water, steam, air, gas, oil systems.
  • Coordinating interdisciplinary teams of engineers and designers to complete project tasks on schedule and on budget.
  • Reviewing relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents to support project development.
  • Developing material and workhour estimates, as well as engineering and design schedules.
