About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years work experience in a maintenance environment or equivalent education.
• Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment (Food industry is highly preferred).
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC motors, motor control circuits, and photoeyes / sensors, etc.
• Computer literate.
• Familiarity with CMMS work order systems.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Must be able to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts.
• Must be able to make decisions.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of conveyance a strong plus.
• Food manufacturing background a plus with an understanding of FDA requirements.
• Should be able to understand blueprints and drawings.
• Working knowledge of the following: Welding, Machining, Plumbing, Pipefitting, Electricity.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all plant and facility support equipment, including but not limited to compressed air system, HVAC systems, Steam system, etc.
• Perform all Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting.
• Ensure safe work practices (NFPA 70e, LOTO, etc.)
• Respond and react to mechanical and electrical issues in the production environment in a timely and efficient manner.
• Read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to aid in troubleshooting.
• Keep a clean and organized work area.
• Complete maintenance projects - PM tasks and work orders as assigned.
• Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment, and facilities in the building.
• Recognize waste and recommend initiatives for elimination or reduction.
• Use the CMMS (SAP) to complete work orders, write corrective work orders, check out parts, etc.
• Diagnose problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in the facility.
• Communicate daily pass-down activities to other technicians and team lead.
• Maintain proper documentation of plant equipment.
• Adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards as well as HACCP compliance and other food safety and workplace safety initiatives.
• Follow attendance policy. Observe department call-in procedures. Exhibit timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.
• Maintain a positive attitude and get along well with coworkers.
• Exhibit teamwork and willingness to help others.
• Follow dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Be relied upon to complete assigned tasks.
• Comply with established Departmental and Organizational policies and procedures.
• Work within a team environment to meet/exceed established production standards.
