About The Position

The Material Handler will transport explosives and solvents to production buildings and the warehouse for shipment and ensure all items transported are documented. This role involves delivering explosives and energetic materials, operating company vehicles and forklifts, filling solvent containers, communicating with production teams, managing hazardous waste, and documenting material movements. The position requires adherence to safety regulations, including ITAR restrictions and Safe Explosives Act requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended).
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to become forklift certified upon hire.
  • Ability to communicate and document effectively in English.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow specific written and verbal instructions.
  • Function Specific RCRA training upon hire.
  • Ability to work effectively with other employees as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task in support of end-result/goal.
  • Ability to talk and hear in order to communicate with others.
  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel as well as reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus when viewing a computer monitor.
  • Employees must wear a minimum of 50 percent cotton clothing including undergarments to mitigate electrostatic discharge (ESD).
  • Employees must also wear company issued safety footwear.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers explosives and energetic materials from bulk storage to production buildings.
  • Delivers finished product from production to the bunkers or warehouse.
  • Drives company vehicles and operates forklift as required.
  • Fills solvent containers that are used in production.
  • Communicates with Production Leads and Production employees to determine their explosive and energetic material needs.
  • Responsible for some hazardous waste management functions. Performs physical waste disposal activities (e.g., moving containers, collecting samples, deactivating materials, etc.).
  • Documents by recording information when moving materials throughout the facility.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
