About The Position
Roemer Machine, a leader in centrifuge repair, rebuilding, and precision machining, is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Manual Machinist in Davenport, Iowa. Founded in 1940 and now part of the McCarthy-Bush family of companies, Roemer Machine is committed to quality craftsmanship, reliability, and responsive service. This role involves operating manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment to manufacture, repair, and modify precision metal components. The machinist will read blueprints and technical drawings, machine parts to specified tolerances, and verify finished work using precision measuring instruments.
Requirements
- Previous experience with manual machining methods, tooling, metal properties, speeds, feeds, and tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
- Skilled with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and independently in an industrial machine shop environment.
- High school diploma.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

- Enjoy working in a physical role. You'll be on your feet operating machinery and tools throughout the day, which could also include lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
