About The Position

The Lineman Electrician specializes in the maintenance, repair, and installation of high-voltage electrical distribution systems and utility infrastructure up to 69 kV. The William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace's normal hours of operation (NHO) are 6:00 A.M. through 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays.

Requirements

  • Must be specifically qualified and trained to work on electrical utility systems and equipment up to 69 kV.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance, repair and installation of electrical distribution systems including switching, utility poles, and substations.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
  • Candidates must pass a background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and install electrical distribution systems up to 69 kV.
  • Perform switching operations on utility systems.
  • Work on utility poles, substations, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair high-voltage systems safely.
  • Install and maintain overhead and underground lines.
  • Adhere to strict high-voltage safety protocols.
  • Participate in emergency power-restoration activities.
