About The Position
The Lab Technician is an integral part of the Quality team at Phibro Animal Health Corporation’s State College, Pennsylvania site. Under general supervision, the technician handles bulk, premix, and feed samples according to documented procedures, which may include sample login, extraction, and analysis. The role produces quality data efficiently and supports laboratory operations, safety, and compliance.
Requirements
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to repeatedly follow written procedures.
- Ability to handle samples safely and in a cGMP-compliant manner.
- Good decision-making skills to manage multiple tasks.
- General knowledge of the animal feed business and animal health market.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organization and planning skills.
- Creativity and innovation.
- A degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related science field is preferred.
- Preferred experience varies by education: BS with one year of relevant experience; AS/AAS with two years; or high school education with three years.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science degree and one year of relevant experience.
- Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science degree and two years of relevant experience.
- High school education and three years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Produce quality data in an efficient manner.
- Participate in investigations.
- May perform waste disposal activities.
- Monitor laboratory supplies for replacement or replenishment.
- Follow company safety procedures.
- Complete assigned training events on time.
- May perform janitorial duties, including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, and general cleaning.
- Handle bulk, premix, and feed samples according to documented procedures, including sample login, extraction, and analysis as applicable.
