About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of Medical Assistant School, Business/Vocational, and Medical Secretarial or courses in Phlebotomy required.
• ASPT or equivalent certification is required to be obtained within the first six months of employment, if not currently certified.
• Phlebotomy and office experience required.
• Strong communication skills
• Customer service oriented.
• BLS and Phlebotomy certification is required and must be maintained during employment.

Nice To Haves

• Background in customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine clerical functions
• Greets patients/visitors
• Performs computer entry of physician orders
• Screens phone calls for test information
• Data entry and retrieval of patient's results and messages
• Charts patient results
• Supports the Laboratory computer system to ensure efficient operation of the Laboratory work flow
• Responsible for the phlebotomy collection and triage area
• Maintains printers and requisition request organization
• Performs routine phlebotomy
• Performs skin punctures
• Provides in-house courier service
