About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean for the International Extension Programs (IEP), this position provides professional student services support, including pre-admissions guidance, advising, and coordination of services for prospective and current students in the university’s self-support degree, certificate, and extension programs. This position also assists and supports in maintaining student records and immigration documentation by supporting the Designated School Official (DSO) role, and assists with recruitment and enrollment activities for self-support programs.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
  • Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Working knowledge of the basic principles of individual and group behavior; research and observation techniques for the purpose of recording, classifying, and interpreting factual information; and the techniques and methods of interviewing.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data; reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations; participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences and interviews; clearly express ideas and recommendations orally; write clear and concise reports; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and faculty.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) is preferred.
  • Work experience as an international student advisor is preferred.
  • Work experience in the university admissions and enrollment process is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general information to prospective and current students regarding program offerings, admission requirements, and enrollment processes, and refer complex inquiries to senior staff.
  • Assist students with application processes by reviewing submissions for completeness and directing required documentation.
  • Support basic student financial processes by providing standard information on tuition and payment options and routing inquiries as appropriate.
  • Enter and update student data in systems such as PeopleSoft and CRM to maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with issuing I-20s for IEP students in accordance with established guidelines, maintaining SEVIS immigration records, and supporting processes such as transfers, terminations, travel signatures, and changes of status.
  • Assist with maintaining student records by entering, verifying, and updating information in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support file review processes by checking documentation for completeness and flagging discrepancies for review.
  • Support agent liaison activities, including communication with overseas agents, collecting reference checks, and preparing agent agreements.
  • Provide general administrative support for student services operations, including scheduling and coordination tasks.
  • Provide basic advising support to students by answering routine questions and referring complex academic or immigration-related concerns to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling and preparation of advising materials.
  • Support workshops and information sessions by coordinating logistics and materials.
  • Assist in coordinating student orientations and informational sessions by preparing materials, scheduling logistics, and supporting event delivery.
  • Provide support for outreach and recruitment activities through routine communications and event assistance.
  • Assist in compiling basic data for reports related to student applications and enrollment.
  • Support updates to program materials such as guides and handbooks under direction.
  • Other classification-related duties as assigned.
