About The Position

The Host position is responsible for providing organizational and operational support to the management staff for the efficient operations of the Restaurant. These duties include overseeing Open Table reservations, seating the dining room in an efficient manner, training new employees hired as hosts, answering all incoming phone calls and checking voicemails, handling inquiries for private events, and keeping the host and bathroom areas clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Teamwork and Toast POS system
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to interact with guests, the public, and coworkers
  • Proficient verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and professionally deal with stressful situations during busy periods in a loud, busy, and crowded environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfaction
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with Open Table
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to interact professionally at all times with guests, management team and coworkers
  • Must have knowledge of all required legal documents, i.e., A.B.C., Health Department, Police, City, Etc.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent optional
  • Minimum of one years’ experience in a fast-paced restaurant/bar preferred
  • Must be at least 16 years old to meet minimum age requirement of the State of Tennessee to work evening hours.
  • Employees younger than 18 are not allowed to serve alcohol and can only work three hours per day and until 10 PM on school nights, which are generally Sunday through Thursday.
  • Employees under the age of 18 are not allowed behind the bar.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, high, well-balanced energy level throughout the entire shift
  • Have strong interpersonal communication skills in order to greet guests, answer guest questions and address guest concerns in a warm, professional, and accommodating manner
  • Display understanding of manuals and successfully complete all training tests
  • Exhibit consistently dependable, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy conduct
  • Provide exemplary guest service on a consistent basis
  • Daily review of Open Table reservations, special events and private parties and create a game plan for the day
  • Politely welcome guests by greeting them and ensure they are seated in a timely manner
  • Maintain host and bathroom areas by keeping them clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
  • Respond to all inquiries about private parties
  • Record guest notes in Open Table
  • Assist the management team with guest relations for day-to-day operations
