About The Position

Requirements

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact RN license eligible to practice in Virginia required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room RN experience in an acute care setting preferred

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred or active enrollment in a BSN program
• Med-Surg RNs with strong clinical backgrounds may be considered for cross-training opportunities

Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, and provide care for patients across all age groups in the Emergency Department
• Deliver nursing care for a wide range of conditions, from minor injuries to critical, life-threatening emergencies
• Manage multiple patient assignments simultaneously while prioritizing care based on acuity
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to clinical changes
• Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress situations
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to develop and coordinate care plans
• Support patient transfers, referrals, and discharge planning as appropriate
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to Emergency Department protocols at all times
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support quality outcomes through evidence-based nursing practice
