About The Position
The eLearning Developer & Class Instructor provides cross-functional support in developing and facilitating learning content for stakeholders with diverse ages and skill levels, tailoring content to different audiences. The role supports the NYC Department for the Aging’s workforce learning and professional development efforts, including learning management systems, training administration, instructional materials, and in-person and virtual instruction. The selected candidate reports to the Senior Director of Learning & Professional Development. This is a per-diem position described as full-time at 35 hours per week and paid hourly. Per-diem employees working 35 hours per week receive health and dental benefits. Annual and sick leave accrual is based on hours worked; paid holidays begin after 18 months of full-time employment.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community-centered activities related to the duties; or high school graduation or equivalent and six years of such experience; or equivalent education and/or experience.
- All candidates must have at least one year of experience in community work or community-centered activities as described in the qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise and support for developing, implementing, and managing content in the agency’s Learning Management System (LMS).
- Administer and maintain learner accounts across multiple learning platforms.
- Monitor training compliance and follow up with learners about outstanding training requirements.
- Design, develop, and publish supplementary instructional materials, such as e-learning modules, job aids, and guides.
- Develop and administer learning activities, and analyze associated data and feedback.
- Serve as a training liaison by responding to training inquiries and evaluating and coordinating with external vendors.
- Research and assess emerging technologies, learning trends, and innovative practices to support workforce upskilling.
- Develop and deliver presentations, workshops, and learning programs about emerging technologies applicable across disciplines and educational areas.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and recommend learning solutions that enhance employee performance, engagement, and professional development.
- Facilitate in-person and virtual learning on technical applications, such as the MS Office Suite.
- Prepare topical and informative presentations on AI and other trending technology for use across various disciplines.
