About The Position

Indiana University Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for Ball Memorial’s 18-bed medical diabetes unit in Muncie, Indiana. The unit provides care for acutely ill diabetic patients transitioning between progressive and medical levels of care. Nurses work on the Progressive Care Unit using the Team-Based Acuity Adaptable Model (TBAAM) alongside nurses, patient care assistants, a unit secretary, an RN case manager, a geographically placed physician, a pharmacist, and a dietician. The role offers opportunities to develop skills in insulin and cardiac drips, interdisciplinary collaboration, foundational nursing practice, prioritization, and patient education. The unit supports professional development through flexible scheduling, education and conference opportunities, an active Unit Based Council, and involvement in innovation initiatives. Requirements

  • Associate of Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program is required.
  • Candidates who did not graduate from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they have more than two years of acute care experience, subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Current Indiana Registered Nurse license required.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA required.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required according to unit or department specialty and patient care policies.
