About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five years of professional nursing experience.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC).
• Current Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Provider Card.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration, ambulatory oncology, navigation, triage, or related specialty areas.
• Demonstrated experience in staff education, precepting, mentoring, or professional development.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Nursing Education.
• BLS Instructor certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education, orientation, onboarding, and continuing education programs for oncology nursing and clinical support staff to support safe, effective, evidence-based patient care.
• Assess clinical learning needs, develop and maintain competency standards, and conduct initial and ongoing competency evaluations.
• Serve as a clinical education resource to nursing and clinical support staff, providing guidance and instruction on oncology nursing practices, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, infusion services, symptom management, and other oncology-specific care requirements.
• Develop, review, and maintain clinical educational materials, competency tools, and training resources to support compliance with organizational policies, professional nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to identify clinical performance gaps and implement targeted educational interventions supporting patient safety, quality improvement, and compliance with established standards of care.
• Evaluate educational program effectiveness, monitor staff competency and orientation progress, maintain required education and competency records, and communicate identified learning needs and performance concerns to nursing leadership.
