About The Position
N.E.W. Community Clinic is seeking a passionate Dental Hygienist to join their amazing team. The clinic's mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality health services to underserved individuals in the community, regardless of their ability to pay. They offer a range of services including medical, dental, mental healthcare, WIC, and community outreach. This role is crucial in promoting dental health and ensuring comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene
- Qualified in Basic Life Support techniques/CPR
- Comprehend and use basic language either written or spoken to communicate information and ideals
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene
- A minimum of 3-years of experience
Responsibilities
- Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patient
- Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments
- Properly captures digital radiographs that are diagnostic (root apices /no overlapping). Radiographs properly labeled
- Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins
- Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums; using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession; exposing and developing radiographic studies
- Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
- Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical, and dental histories charting in patient records
- Completes med consults as directed by dentist. Faxed to patient's PCP and follows set clinic policies. (note in chart, scanned, follow up)
