About The Position

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with construction and structural steel erection.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ICC Welding certification.
• ICC High Strength Bolting certification.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to meet pre-employment requirements.
• Reliable vehicle suitable for use on construction sites.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 60–80 pounds.
• Ability to interpret engineering and construction plans and specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of building construction practices.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as Level II in PT, MT, and UT methods is preferred.
• Knowledge of AWS and AISC specifications is desired.
• Knowledge of other trades such as soils, aggregates, concrete, fireproofing, and EIFS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test structural steel during erection at general commercial building sites.
• Perform observations, inspections, and tests of building construction projects.
• Document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practice.
• Communicate daily with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers.
