About The Position

A manufacturing company that produces fabricated steel products is hiring Certified Welding Inspectors to inspect fabricated steel assemblies designed to support heavy loads. This is a completely onsite position in either Western Tennessee or the Florence, South Carolina area. Candidates are expected to live and work in the same area; relocation assistance is available. The role follows a four-day work week, with 10-hour days. Day and night positions are available. Compensation is $35–$40 per hour. Requirements

AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
At least three years of experience as a Certified Welding Inspector.
Experience inspecting and testing structures and welds.
Ability to identify cracks, corrosion, faulty welds, and other defects that could affect structural integrity.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings or blueprints.
Proficiency with MS Office software and ability to produce reports in required formats.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Visual, and Ultrasonic inspection (NDI).
Experience in construction, civil engineering, defense, marine, or aerospace; candidates with these backgrounds may be considered.

Responsibilities

Conduct onsite testing and inspection of fabricated steel assemblies designed to support heavy loads.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings.
Perform ongoing floor inspections and document manufacturing processes, including cutting, punching, shearing, stamping, notching, welding, and painting.
Maintain daily inspection records.
Identify components with cracks, corrosion, faulty welds, or other defects that could affect structural integrity.
Produce reports in required formats.
