Theater Costume Designer

About The Position
The costume designer will facilitate all costume needs for (1) musical and (2) non-musicals. They will collaborate with students, the Theatre Director, Properties Designer, and Theatre Technical Director in the research, creation, and implementation of Costumes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Theater, Theatrical Design/Theater and/or previous Costume experience is recommended.
Responsibilities
- Build and/or rent costumes for each production working within the designated budget.
- Work with students to ensure their costume fits well & makes them comfortable/confident.
- Be on-site for actor measurements, costume fittings, and all dress rehearsals.
- Work with the technical director and stage crew students to organize and maintain the school's costume inventory.
- Provide interested students with instruction on the basics of garment construction, tailoring, and costume design.
- Collaborate with the Theatre Director on the show's aesthetics and specific costume needs inherent to the artistic vision.
