About The Position

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma from a reputable, post-secondary culinary training school is required
• Must possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Journeyman’s papers or Red Seal required, industry experienced considered.
• Must have good time management skills, able to work in a consistently fast-paced environment and demonstrate work flexibility.
• Must be a positive, driven leader with an emphasis on development of employees to achieve desired results.
• Must have a passion for excellent food and creativity to develop custom menu options with ease
• Required to work to the business needs, days, evenings, weekends, holidays. This will at times require long hours especially during peak times

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar environment is an asset

Responsibilities

• The preparation, production, and transportation of food items for service
• Plans effectively for varying levels of business
• Demonstrate proficiency in all areas of the kitchen
• Ability to multitask in a variety of roles within the kitchen while working independently
• Positive influence with all members of the culinary team
• The organization of food items and mise en place.
• Inventory management; receiving and proper storage of food deliveries.
• Maintaining food standards through use of standardized food recipes and safe food handling practices
• Maintains food cost through the minimization of food waste
• Identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings to the kitchen managers
