Prepares and maintains exam rooms, prepares charts, obtains reports and records; assists with patient flow and ensures the overall smooth running of the clinical office. Primary Duties & Responsibilities include Patient Care Duties such as interacting directly with patients in a clinic setting, completing clinical tasks (e.g., vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, verifying medications), preparing for office hours, assisting with examinations, procedures, and lab tests, and potentially assisting with medication renewal/authorization and administering medications (vaccines, intramuscular/subcutaneous injections) under physician/nurse practitioner orders. Communication and Documentation responsibilities involve directing patient flow, assisting with special procedures/treatments, completing requisitions, routing phone messages and patient questions, assisting with care coordination (e.g., calling patients with test results, scheduling appointments/surgeries/diagnostic procedures/admissions, monitoring patient contacts), completing necessary paperwork, and answering basic patient/family questions. Equipment and Supplies duties include monitoring supply inventory, cleaning/stocking exam rooms, and sterilizing instruments. Other Functions involve maintaining HIPAA compliance, skills/competencies, participating in in-services, staff programs, continuing education, and cross-training, complying with OSHA, state, and federal regulations, and participating in quality improvement activities. The position is full-time with 40 scheduled hours.
