About The Position
Valley Recycling is a premier metal recycling company servicing the Northern Utah region. As part of the Metro Group, Inc. family, we are committed to providing quality customer service coupled with integrity. Our experience is second to none; and over the years we have worked with thousands of customers, from local residents with a few pounds of cans to large companies with truckloads of scrap material. We have an exciting opportunity as a scrap metal Buyer.
Requirements
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- 1 year of customer service experience preferred
- Able to work in the heat of the summer and cold of the winter
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Good attendance and punctuality is a must
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Understand computer basics
Responsibilities
- Greets and helps customers unload scrap metal
- Identifies, weighs, and sorts out different types of materials
- Must be courteous and patient with employees and customers
- Helps with housekeeping during down times
- Must be willing to fill at other tasks when needed and performing only those jobs on which they have been trained
- Will work in the different weather conditions
- Responsible for observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment
- Responsible for timely, understandable, legible and accurate paperwork
