Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for at least 5+ hours in length.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
  • Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50-100 lbs. as needed on a daily basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, provide information, and make order suggestions.
  • Request ID from guests to ensure they are old enough to purchase alcoholic beverages.
  • Take beverage orders and relay them to the bartender.
  • Collect orders from the bartender, add appropriate garnish, place on tray, and serve to patrons with cocktail napkins.
  • Compute bills and accept payment.
  • Take orders for and serve light meals and hors d'oeuvres.
  • Remove empty or dirty glasses and bottles and return them to the bar or kitchen.
  • Perform opening and closing duties as requested by outlet manager.
  • Actively up-sell products.
