Stephens Memorial Hospital is hiring for an LVN for the Ambulatory Care Services or (ACS) Department on a PRN or as needed basis.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing.
  • Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining Basic Life Support (CPR-Healthcare Provider) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of hospital nursing experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing high standards of nursing care to ill, injured convalescent or disabled patients in the Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical Department, and/or the Ambulatory Care Services Department.
  • Assessing patient needs, planning and modifying care, and implementing interventions.
  • Working as part of SMH’s healthcare team.
  • Being assigned to a primary nursing unit, but may be asked to work in any other nursing unit based on the needs of those departments and the patient population.
  • Functioning according to the Licensed Vocational Nurse scope in each department.
