About The Position

Part-time, hourly position to support ZingTrain events; irregular schedule; usually 2-3 shifts |10-15 hours/week starting September 1st. Scheduled shifts are typically around a 7 am start with some afternoon-early evening shifts. Fewer events and hours are scheduled in January, July, August, and December. This role brings a great customer experience to customers and co-workers by providing logistical support for ZingTrain training events held at ZingTrain; prepares the building for guests’ arrival, facilitates food service during the event, cleans and closes up the building after an event is over. Acts as a ZingTrain host when guests are in the building, actively seeking opportunities to engage with guests and go the Extra Mile.

Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 20 pounds - required
  • Ability to stand, lift and bend for the duration of a 6-8 hour shift - required
  • Able to print (or learn to print) nametags and labels using the Zingerman’s hand-lettering font (Muno Bold)
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Track record of detailed follow-through
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to ask for help and/or clarification of expectations
  • Operate copy machine and tablet
  • High level of personal energy
  • Trustworthy, on-time, reliable and enthusiastic

Responsibilities

  • Brings a great customer experience to customers and co-workers by providing logistical support for ZingTrain training events held at ZingTrain
  • Prepares the building for guests’ arrival
  • Facilitates food service during the event
  • Cleans and closes up the building after an event is over
  • Acts as a ZingTrain host when guests are in the building, actively seeking opportunities to engage with guests and go the Extra Mile
  • Always arrives on time
  • Exudes contagious energy and enthusiasm
  • Room set-up (tables, chairs, etc.)
  • Arranging training materials according to an established seating chart
  • Comfortable being first/last person in the building, locking and unlocking doors
  • Making sure sidewalks, restrooms, and all public areas are customer-ready
  • Setting up and building attractive displays of food
  • Serving, clearing, and cleaning up after meals
  • Follows safe food handling practices/systems
  • Wiping down all tables and resetting, if needed
  • Taking out trash

  • Uses task boards and event setup checklists to guide daily work
  • Works with a sense of urgency, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely fashion
  • Auditing and looking for ways to continuously improve event support systems
  • Works with Zingerman’s food vendors (Deli, Roadhouse, Coffee, Bakehouse, Miss Kim) to receive, set up, and double-check event food
  • Communicates closely with ZingTrain Concierge throughout shift
  • Brings positive energy to all client and coworker interactions
  • Vacuuming
  • Running AV systems (music, projector) and training others on how to do so
  • Duplication of training materials on an as-needed basis
  • Answers phone and provides other office operations support on an “as needed” basis
  • Responsible (together with the rest of the ZingTrain team) for meeting ZingTrain’s Annual Plan goals
