About The Position

Part-time, hourly position to support ZingTrain events. This role involves irregular scheduling, typically 2-3 shifts per week totaling 10-15 hours. Scheduled shifts usually start around 7 am, with some afternoon-early evening shifts. The starting pay is $16.00/hour, with a $.50/hour raise upon completion of orientation training (typically three months). Fewer events and hours are scheduled in January, July, August, and December.

Requirements

  • Always arrive on time.
  • Exude contagious energy and enthusiasm.
  • Room set-up (tables, chairs, etc.).
  • Arrange training materials according to an established seating chart.
  • Comfortable being the first/last person in the building, locking and unlocking doors.
  • Regularly lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, lift, and bend for the duration of a 6-8 hour shift.
  • Able to print (or learn to print) nametags and labels using the Zingerman’s hand-lettering font (Muno Bold).
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Track record of detailed follow-through.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to ask for help and/or clarification of expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Restaurant/catering experience.
  • Experience and comfort with a variety of software applications (GoogleDocs and Hubspot).

Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical support for ZingTrain training events.
  • Prepare the building for guests' arrival.
  • Facilitate food service during events.
  • Clean and close the building after events.
  • Act as a ZingTrain host, engaging with guests and going the Extra Mile.
  • Ensure sidewalks, restrooms, and all public areas are customer-ready.
  • Set up and build attractive food displays.
  • Serve, clear, and clean up after meals.
  • Follow safe food handling practices/systems.
  • Wipe down tables and reset them.
  • Take out trash.
  • Wash dishes.
  • Use task boards and event setup checklists.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Audit and identify opportunities for continuous improvement of event support systems.
  • Receive, set up, and double-check event food with Zingerman’s food vendors.
  • Communicate closely with the ZingTrain Concierge.
  • Bring positive energy to all client and coworker interactions.
  • Operate copy machine and tablet.
  • Run AV systems (music, projector) and train others.
  • Duplicate training materials as needed.
  • Answer the phone and provide other office operations support as needed.
  • Contribute to meeting ZingTrain’s Annual Plan goals.
