About The Position

ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars) is hiring part-time Youth Tennis Coaches to lead or assist beginner K–5 after-school tennis programs in Oakland, Piedmont, and the greater East Bay during the Winter/Spring 2027 season. The season runs from January through May 2027, and coaches must be available for the entire season. No previous coaching experience is required; training, equipment, and support are provided. Coaches lead fun, safe, weekly practices for children ages 5–11, teaching tennis fundamentals through game-filled lesson plans. Depending on interest and experience, coaches may also have opportunities to teach other sports, including basketball, soccer, flag football, and pickleball. The weekly commitment is 1–15 hours, depending on the number of classes taught. Classes generally take place between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the same day each week, last 1–1.5 hours, and run for 10–14 weeks. Coaches must be available at least one afternoon per week and attend an in-person orientation. ANTS works with coaches to assign suitable locations.
